Training on Water Hygiene

In order to increase the level of public awareness, from December 11 to December 30, 2017 through the project “Green Finance” a total of 20 one-day trainings on "Water Hygiene" were organized in Sughd region. During the trainings, two topics were presented: Water Hygiene and Respiratory Diseases. Both of these topics are listed in the guide for the implementation of the Gender Policy of the project, as they relate to changes in the health status of the population, especially women. At the session on water hygiene, participants were provided with information on water structure and composition, types of drinking water, conditions of water storage in local conditions in the village, infectious diseases associated with water use and ways of water purification for consumption. Participants were given medical and hygienic advice on the proper use of water.

The second session of the training included providing information on respiratory diseases. During the presentation of this topic, participants were provided with information on the chemical and physical properties of dust, sources of dust and the composition of smoke. This part of the presentation also contains information about the respiratory organs and the effect of dust and smoke on these organs. Participants also received information on reducing the effects of dust and smoke on health and how to prevent respiratory diseases

At all of these trainings, brief information was provided on green energy and its significance. Information about solar batteries and solar collectors was interesting for participants.

Trainings on water hygiene were organized in the cities of Isfara, Khujand, Istaravshan and Kanibadam and in the districts of B. Gafurov, J. Rasulov, Asht, Mastchoh, Zafarabad, Spitamen. There were 507 participants in these trainings. Most of them are customers of the Microcredit Depository Organization Arvand and Imon International. Of the total number of participants – 144 were men and 363 were women. Ten trainings were held with the financial institution Arvand and ten more - with the cooperation and support of the financial institution Imon International. The Project Management Unit of the Ministry of Finance will continue to carry out this kind of training in the Khatlon region.
