Project "Access to Green Finance", under the auspices of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) was initiated in Tajikistan in 2015. The objective of the project is to mitigate the energy problems of the residents of the republic, suffering from a shortage of electricity, especially in winter period.
The ADB study showed that about half of families experiencing problems with electricity, were interested in purchasing solar panels.
In the framework of the project, the population of Tajikistan and small business representatives received loans through banks and microfinance institutions for the purchase of energy-efficient roofs, doors, windows and floors for insulation, water heaters and other energy efficient products. Funds for this project were allocated not to all microfinance organizations, but only to those that match all criteria: financial stability, transparency, a reliable authorized capital and potential. Thus, LLC MDO "Arvand" was among the winners.
Alternative energy includes a number of perspective ways to generate energy from the available renewable resources and natural phenomena (wind, sunlight, moving water flows, and others). Additional advantages of renewable energy are the lack of adverse effects on the environment and human health, as well as its efficiency.

- Gadoeva Mayram Asliddinovna has been an active client of LLC MDO "Arvand" branch in J. Rassulov district since 2011. Mrs. Gadoeva has children, who should get a good education, and as well, family expenses are high. Therefore, she opened her retail outlet on the food market. In addition to entrepreneurial activity, she is engaged in the production of homemade national sweets (halva and parvarda). Money that family earned was enough for food, clothing and education of children but not for housing construction. This situation had pushed Mrs. Gadoeva to apply for a "Green loan" in MDO "Arvand". By means of the loan obtained, she insulated the roof and made repairs. Mrs. Gadoeva is grateful for the support of LLC MDO “Arvand” and organizers of the project and looks forward to further cooperation.
- Ruzieva Khursheda Alimovna is the Client of LLC MDO "Arvand" branch in Isfara. She works as a senior nurse in the district hospital. Mrs. Ruzieva planned to make repairs in her house, but her salary was fully spent on household expenses. Understanding of the need for money led her to LLC MDO "Arvand". With the help of the product "Green loan”, she had installed plastic windows and doors in her house. Due to her diligence and ability to make the right decision, Mrs. Ruzieva was able to build and insulate her house, making it more comfortable. Expressing her gratitude for the support, she wishes all participants good luck and prosperity in business.
